My mom is going to be so Proud, Disappointed and Mad!

Proud & Disappointed
Noah gets bored when I have to feed Grant and can't play with him, so we've turned the couch in to a pirate ship. Noah, Grant and I are the pirates and Ava is the shark in the water (playing on the carpet). It keeps him entertained while Grant gets his grub. The other day I decided to make him a sword - my mom would be so proud that I attempted sewing. This is the only fabric I had so he now has a farmer sword. Why would she be disappointed in this feat? Well, the workmanship on this sword is far from stellar, in fact it's quite disgraceful. Noah doesn't care as long as it sword fights.

MAD!!
This might be a lengthy post so read at your own risk. Adam's job at fidelity changed at the first of the year. He used to be able to pick his own schedule and he was calling customers and helping them with their accounts - he really liked the perk of coming and going and usually helping happy customers. Now he has a set schedule and is taking inbound calls and only allowed to do certain things. He doesn't enjoy going to work as much as he used to these days. So.......as many of you know we have a bit of Moose blood, AKA gypsy blood, in our veins and we get a little antsy to try something new every couple of years. We've been looking for places to live since we got to SLC (OK since we got married) and we really wanted to move to Texas or the Carolinas (since the tropics don't have much as far as employment). The top reasons we like these 2 places are 1. weather and 2. Cost of living. However, whenever a job opening would come up in those locations things would never work out. After visiting the Yang's in northern California last Thanksgiving we added that locations to our list. We always put it on the bottom of the list because cost of living isn't that great there; however, California has been hit hard with the recession so it's now quite reasonable. So without further adieu, we are PROBABLY moving to Sacramento. I say probably because we still don't have a definite offer. Now I'll tell you how this all came to head. (I warned you this was going to be long winded) In January we saw a job posting for another investment company (can't say the name for Adam's safety) in Sacramento. Adam's old boss (he left Fidelity a few months ago to work for this company) called that branch manager and said he really needed to hire Adam. The manager immediately called Adam and basically told him he was hired but he still was interviewing a few other candidates. Oh back up a few months - the Fidelity branch manager from SLC called the Sacramento office and gave Adam a stellar recommendation and the Fidelity Sacramento manager called and told Adam as soon as we was given permission to hire him he would give him a call. OK, we never did hear back from Fidelity so when this other company called we were excited and figured that is where we would end up; however, weeks went by and we never heard back from them. Adam finally called them back and he said he was out of town but still very interested. That was a couple of weeks ago. Adam was getting frustrated and figured maybe it wouldn't work out. A few days later Fidelity called out of the blue and said that someone from the branch was going to be in SLC and wanted to interview him. He interviewed and of course he loved Adam and told his manager to hire him. The manager has been in contact with Adam ever since and told him he could have the OK to hire him as early as March 1st. Wow, that was a long explanation. As usual things are falling in to place, not how we envisioned it would go, but we feel good about how it's all working out. I'll keep you posted when, or if, we get the final offer. Right now we are just scurrying about trying to get our house listed. SOOOOOO that is why my mom is going to be so mad. This will add a few hours to her drive or a short flight- if it helps any Disneyland is halfway between Sacramento and Hurricane (6 1/2 hours each)! Know anyone who wants a house?

What a nice story to read. You left out all the frustration during our phone conversations, so I can better appreciate the nearly happy ending. Min and I honestly think that you'll find the cost of living in Sac comparable or cheaper than SLC. Lately, we've been getting by on pennies.
And I'm PROUD of your sword. The imperfections are what make homemade stuff special. Noah makes a handsome pirate.

Booooooo!!!! Madison is not happy with you at all. How can you take her Noah so far away? We will only allow it if you promise to bring those growing babies at least 6 times a year to visit.

The sword is neat. I just saw a tutorial on how to make one on a blog. But that in no way makes up for the other news you decided to drop on us. :)

Boo! (since we see you so often now that you're close!). Sounds exciting. We need to see you guys!

We can find Kyle better fishing rivers than the Sacramento River. We promise to hook him up if he and Emily help with the move.

You know that's where I grew up. West Sacramento- on the other side of the bridge. The West Sac Ward is great. Look in the suburbs in West Sac- it's a nice place to live. It's just minutes away from downtown Sac and just a couple hours from San Fran- AND now I'd have another reason to go visit "home". Good luck!

What! Ok so it's a good thing that we have our blogs to keep in touch, since you do live a few hours away, but we never see each other. That will be quite the adventure, but I do feel for your mom. That's just too far away to take the grandbabies to.
We've been in the same boat the last 2 weeks, finishing our remodel and sprucing things up to sell our house. It's been a long hard 2 weeks. Good Luck with everything. Would you get a part time nursing job? Wow! the stuff you'll see there. ;)

I don't know if "Congratulations" are in order or not. I'll just say if you guys are happy then we are mostly happy. Aside from the fact that we won't see you as much we'd be completely happy. Hope the job is one Adam will enjoy and you can find a great area to live! Let us know if you need any help with anything!!

Good luck you guys. I'm glad that I can keep up with you on the blog. We've been wondering how much longer you would be staying in Salt Lake. Your kids are so cute.
