Since this is my first spring in California, I don't have much to compare the weather to; however, I've been informed by the locals that this spring is very strange. They say it stops raining and warms to the 90's by May and never rains again until late fall. Well, it's been particularly rainy and chili this spring. When I say chili, I'm not talking Salt Lake chili, it's still in the 70's, but man it's been moody weather. Weather in the 70's is actually perfect weather, so I'm not really complaining, it's just not boating or swimming weather, which you know we would love all year round. Anyway, it was raining on Saturday, so we decided to take a drive to Lake Oroville. Adam's been daydreaming, and night dreaming for that matter, of building a shanty on a boating lake. Lake Oroville is one of his recent finds. We drove up there to check it out on Saturday. It is a huge lake (almost Lake Powell size) and beautiful. There is a casino in the town nearby, so we're set. Comes with Chippendales and all. Just kidding we don't gamble or visit the clubs. However, Adam did suggest that our *girls night take place at Chippendales.
*For mothers day Adam arranged for me and 2 other women from our ward to have one night a month off after 6pm. Doesn't sound like much, but I was so excited and surprised he arranged it all with the other husbands. Our first night out was last Friday, and we went to the Cheesecake Factory. It was a lot of fun just chatting and not having to worry about kids. We ate very slowly........like 3 hours slowly! :)
don't know why the pictures are blurry
stole the last 2 pictures off the internet since I didn't really take any of the lake

Wow! The lake is gorgeous! Let me know when you're ready for some wakeboarders... :)
I love that Ava is such a cheeser. Brooks is the same way right now. So cute. That is a great mothers day present. Adam I am impressed.
That is a SWEET Mother's Day gift! I'm jealous!
That is a super pretty lake. I don't know what's up with the weather down here, either. It's barely gotten into the 70's all year.
Adam is the coolest. I love him. That's an awesome mother's day gift.
What the elevation of the lake?
Bec, we are always ready for skiers. Since we don't own a wakeboard you'll just have to learn to love waterskiing! :)
Squaggle, the lake elevation is 175-750 ft. above sea level.
So, on a normal year, it should be a warm lake. Good find, Adam.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY Little Miss Eba Oba:) love and miss that little cheese ball
Just caught up on reading your blog here's my all-in-one comment:
Jealous of all your visitors, so fun! Poor Ava, glad you knew what to do, seems like every mom should be a nurse. And 70's are wonderful, congrats! We've got summer weather here so HA! 95 yesterday and 90 today.
