May

Adam decided he really NEEDED a new boat, and found a good deal on one (he pretty much always knows what boats are for sale on Craigslist and other boat selling sites).  We sold our old boat (for $200 more than we paid for it - not counting maintenance and upkeep) a couple weeks later.  Adam's happy moment, when his driveway is filled with boats. :)  The saying, "A mans happiest days are the day he buys a boat and the day he sells it" is NOT true for my man.  His favorite days are ANY day he gets to buy a boat and be on a boat.  The new boat isn't as easy to drive so I'm still getting used to it, but the kids are learning to surf now with the new one and loving it.
My boys (reading scriptures).
Field trip with Grant to the library.....lame.
Took this to show my mom how big geraniums get here.  People grow them as hedges here.
The boys were heading to Father and sons camp out, and I needed to drive to Modesto to pick up a diving board (another Craigslist purchase), so I let Ava stay home from school and start our girls weekend early.  We HAD to stop at the Ghirardelli factory for 'lunch'.
 Way better than school.
She always picks sushi for dinner, which is fine with me.
Most of the beds planted (mainly in early April, but a few late starts for some beds).
Another sluff day to go to the Oakland open house.
Trip to the beach before heading home.
My kids' happy place - the beach and in water.
May activity days - cooking/waffle night (taught the girls some basic baking techniques and they made waffles from scratch and chocolate cookie waffles).
Second activity days was our daddy/daughter activity.  We played some minute-to-win-it games and had an ice cream bar.
Picked lots of mulberries on our walks to the park. So yummy.
 Purple mulberries.

Date night with Grant to the mall. :/  He really wanted to try this trampoline thing.
 Saturday chores.
Ava and Grant's piano recital.  The theme this time was a wild safari.
Giant dandelions on our walks.
The boys building a fire.  Everything has been so wet, it's hard to get a fire started.  You better believe Noah tried until he got it lit.  That boy is a pyro!! Mary taught me that pecan shells are great kindling - who knew?!!

Field day at school.  May seems like the busiest month of the year.

Last day of school.

Haven't made these since Christmas.  Last day of school seemed like reason enough.
Finally made it to the cabin.  Grandma Connie and grandpa Rob came to town for a few days and we went the cabin and did lots of playing.

Grant had his last game while grandma and grandpa were here (well, they got to see half the game before heading to the airport).  We never get family at the kid's activities, so this was a special treat. Grant made the All Star team this year, but we were headed to the cabin during their game, so he only got to attend the practice.  He was bummed, but I couldn't handle 1 more weekend of baseball keeping us from going to the cabin.
Noah is getting pretty good at surfing behind the boat.
Our happy place.
