January

These are in backwards order again. :/  Cora Johnson got baptized in our pool; it was COLD water.  These little kids are brave.
Snow at the cabin!!  Grant built this lean-to that actually stayed fairly dry.
Snowman on the deck.  We were stuck at the cabin with no way out (trees and snow covered roads) for a couple days.  The power went out for a week, so we played a few days and then came home.
The kids had a great time sledding and building snowmen.

Grant and Noah had this grand idea to dig a hole in the backyard.  Yeah, I don't know why!!  The hole turned into a tunnel, that is now covered with a board so people will fall into the deep hole. :)
Grant testing out the zipline harness.  He was in a vulnerable position if we left him there.
Ava loves decorating our skeleton and leaving him in different rooms.  Creeper.

Saturday hike in Auburn.
California winters are rough. :)  Sadly, our weather has spoiled me for too long, and it's becoming very difficult to find other places I would want to live with equally amazing weather.  Obviously, weather is pretty high on my list of places to move.
ALWAYS wrestling.  Ava usually wins.
Grant helped me make some colorful, and delicious, macarons.
Grant got ordained to the Aaronic Priesthood.  He's been so excited to join the young men's program.
P.E. at Maidu park.
Lesson on establishing a firm foundation in the gospel - Pringles rings.

Found a cool mountain biking park.
When we came back from the cabin after Christmas break, Nala wasn't herself.  She would cry, not eat and didn't want to walk.  We tried getting her into the vet, but due to Covid it was going to be a few days.  The kids made her eggs every morning and laid by here all day.  I had a bad feeling it wasn't going to turn out well.  When we took her in the vet said he thought Nala had something pinching the nerves in her neck.  We could spend $6k dollars to get it fixed, and it might not be the problem, or we could put her down.  She was 8+ years old and her breed has a life expectancy of 8-10 years, so we decided to put her down.   It was a really hard day.  The kids (and I) sobbed all day.  It's been a weird adjustment not seeing her at the back window everyday or hearing her bark at the neighbors. I'm glad we were home and the kids got a few days of extra Nala loving before we had to say our goodbyes.

Ava got heart attacked by the older Young Women.  Ava's loved being in YW's now, too.
