April

This month's post is in reverse order.  Noah broke his arm AFTER Mexico, thank goodness.  Noah found a skateboard while we were checking out the super bloom at Folsom.  As soon as got home he went out front to try out the skateboard and within 5 minutes he comes in holding his deformed arm after falling off the skateboard.  We later found out that the wheels on the skateboard were longboard wheels, so when he went over the curb the larger wheels hit the board and abruptly stopped the skateboard. He kept going and stopped his fall with his arm.  He broke both the ulna and radius.  He was in quite a bit of pain the first day or two.  We weren't able to get into a specialist for a few days, so he just had a splint.
Checking out the super bloom.  The kids were being butts so they didn't hike to the good spots.
It really was amazing.  If we would have hiked over past those trails the hills were completely purple with lupines.
We have a dove that keeps laying eggs on our covered patio.  This was round 1.  As soon as the babies fly away, that same day, she lays 2 more eggs and starts the process over again.  We're on set number 3.  I'm ready for her to pick a new spot.
Ava's YW class at the temple.
Grant started baseball again.  The league put him in Majors, even though we signed up for AAA.  He has a great team and has been enjoying playing again.

We took a family trip to Cancun.  It was a lot of fun.  We stayed at an All-inclusive resort.  The night before we left Adam was playing catch with Grant in the back yard and sprained his ankle.  Terrible timing, but luckily he was able to still do all the things with us.
The hotel was pretty new.  The kids loved that they could eat whatever they wanted, whenever they wanted.  We ordered a lot of pina coladas and tried all sorts of other drinks. We played in the ocean a ton (it was super warm), went on a little sail boat, snorkeled, ate a ton........

On our way to Xelha. All these pictures are on the water camera that I haven't uploaded yet.  We went down a really tall waterslide, snorkeled, ate some more, explored cenotes and had a great time.

Parasailing was super fun.  Ava was really nervous, but loved it once she realized it was safe.

Love the color of the water there and the temperature!

Unlimited ice cream was utilized every day. :)
Kids' first experience at a teppanyaki grill.  The kids thought is was so cool.

Riding rickety bikes through the forest in Coba.
Learning all about the Mayans.

Rough life.
The resort was nearly empty, so the kids got to play in the kiddie pools, which they loved almost as much as the bigger pools.
Surfing at the resort.
We had a great vacation and luckily tested negative for Covid so we could come home.  The kids hated the Covid test. :/
Beautiful time of year in California.  Everything is in bloom and sooooooo green.

Ava making her food fancy.  She wanted a picture.
Dinner from the garden.
Started swimming - well, the kids started swimming.  I wait until the water is at least 85.
My little sous chef helped me make a fruit tart for Adam's birthday.
Happy 43rd to my main squeeze.  Man, I sure do love this man.
Duck tape creations at coop.
They did a color fight at coop.  Ava's hair is awesome.

The boys decided to turn their dresser into a desk.  Normally I wouldn't allow this kind of destruction of furniture, but their dresser is old and falling apart, so I let them get creative.  It's actually way more solid as a desk.
Building their desk.  Not sure why they want a desk, WITH A CHAIR, in their room so badly.
Noah got a printing press for his Kiwi crate, so he and Grant made a family newspaper.  It took them a couple hours to complete.  I thought it was so cute.
Where we pick up the daily newspaper. :)

Easter at the cabin.

We went to the town Easter egg hunt.  They did a raffle and the kids thought that was so neat.  Everyone walked away with something fun.

The kids and I hiked in Castle Crags while Adam worked.  It was a cool hike.
