Adam's birthday tart. Remember last year we made this tart for Adam, and he wasn't even there to enjoy it? Well, we decided to replicate it and actually let him try it. My sweet aunt Mary Lu gave me some vanilla bean stems a few Christmases back, and this is the only way I know how to use them - homemade custard. Homemade fruit tarts are a little labor intensive, but well worth it.
Yummy. We love to eat fish, and this was an experiment. It turned out great, especially paired with sweet potato fries!
Awful picture (I/Mary caught Ava and Grant on the table digging in to this with their spoons), but such an easy, super tasty treat.
Recipe from Em's food blog. We all really like this one. Pretty easy too.
Recipe from Tina Lundeen (Hurricane lady). If any of you have ever eaten her food, you can trust that anything coming from her house is delicious. This recipe did not disappoint.

I have a fish recipe that is super easy and my kids/ty actually like. Pour Italian Pesto dressing over tilapia (prob. good on Mahi Mahi too.) and cook. When it is done I usually will drizzle some of the dressing back on top of the fish and add a little freshly grated parmesan. Really good. I am going to have to start trying these.
I have been craving pulled pork enchiladas. MMMMMMMMMM
Yum! I'm sure that Adam was thrilled to get to eat your cooking on his birthday this year!
I love looking at your pics. We went to Fairytale Town all the time with I was a kid. Brought back memories. Sacramento has some great places for kids. Do me a favor- go to the Jazz Jubilee in Old Sac (it happens once a year- I think in the fall). It's the best. I'm guessing you've been to the Train Museum and all of that with the kids. Another old favorite of mine. I'm glad you guys are enjoying life there.
