March

Opening day for baseball.  Grant is the only one playing this year.  It's been raining so much this winter/spring that we've only had 2 practices and a couple games so far.  Going to be a very short season this year.  Awful picture (Grant is far left).
Helped at the final Days for Girls workshop.  The founder of the organization came and spoke and it was so inspiring.  Such an amazing organization and lady.  This was a multi-denominational event, so a few other ladies from different religions also spoke about what they are doing and they were amazing as well.
The Mormon Newsroom came and did a little video about it.  Click here to watch.  They used some of the bags we finished as the display.  We completed 2,000 bags!
Every Friday we go on a date with 1 of the kids (we rotate).  Grant picked going to the arcade for one of his.
Ava thinks that by putting nice words together they form a lovely note or message.  Most of the time they make no sense. :)
Noah's first shave.  Oh man, my kids are growing up and it's really hitting me hard this year.  He was getting some peach fuss on his upper lip, so it was time to shave it off.
Crazy hair day at school.  We just used whatever colored hair spray we have so it usually ends up green and red.  This year we had white too.  Ava has 3 braids going to the side of her head all painted a different color.  We don't go crazy, but at least do something.

My walking path has been flooded for almost 2 months now.  Getting sick of all the rain.  Grateful, but over it.
Mud jumping in our muddy backyard.  Waiting for the rain to stop so we can reseed.
Our contractor dropped the ball on finishing our backyard, so Adam and I have just started slowly working on getting it done before summer.  Go the cabinet doors hung and the outside waterproofed (the green color is the water proofer).

Another slow project.  I've had these fairy doors for years and never got around to hanging them.  Then the kids and I had this awesome idea to cut a hole between the 2 bedrooms, so they could pass notes between their rooms.  We finally got them hung, but it's now used mainly to shoot nerf bullets at each other. :/

We rarely eat donuts, so after cleaning the church I took Ava and Grant to get donuts.  Of course they picked the biggest ones they could find. Ha. :)  Adam and Noah were at the cabin this weekend burning for wood piles.
Ava had a stake activity day event and they did such a great job.  The theme was 'You are Be-You-tiful'.  They made an art project about their favorite attributes about themselves, learned a dance which they performed all together at the end and recorded themselves talking about themselves on family search so they can hear what they sounded like at 9 years old.
Our other activity this month was assembling general conference kits.
Pinewood derby for Grant.  He got 3rd?? (they did the bracketing strange - he lost his first round, but then won all the other races in his bracket).
 His car and his 'prize'.

Ava went to her first bridal shower and thought it was the coolest thing ever.
Don't ask......I have no idea why he does half the things he does.
Their scout campout for March was a sleepover in the church gym.  They played video games, ate loads of pizza and talked until wee hours of the morning.

Ava's kind word notes are poetic! I sometimes let Charlotte read my journal entries from my tweens, and oh, man, it makes us laugh. Ava's writing is far superior to 10yo Mary's. And I have to show Freddie that first shave photo. He asked me last week "When will I need to shave?" I had to tell him, if you're anything like your father, when you go to college.

I finally remembered what my blog address was! So fun to look back at old posts. So fun that you still blog--so much better than Facebook and Instagram, maybe you've inspired me. Your kids are so grown up.
